A want versus a need... How to balance a checkbook... Don't you wish that someone had taught you those things
as you were growing up?
Now there is someone. YOU.
All we need is your enthusiasm, life experience, and a willingness to teach children about how you took chances
and shot for the stars. Junior Achievement provides the training, curriculum, and a classroom of students eager
to meet you. Your commitment varies depending on the grade level of the program you choose.
Elementary programs require a 5 week commitment at 35-40 minutes per week.
Middle grades programs require an 8-10 week commitment at 50 minutes per week.
High school takes a 12-13 week commitment at 55 minutes per week.
JA in a Day takes only one half day, 4-5 hours. Click here to learn more about
JA in a Day.
Training is provided and takes approximately 1-1/2 hours. Classroom materials are provided by Junior Achievement
and are funded by contributions from businesses and individuals in the greater Richmond area. (Could your company
benefit from the PR of funding educational programs?) You may choose to deliver programs at a school near your
home or select one that is close to your place of employment. You and your teacher choose a day and time suitable
to both of you. Check to see if your company allows for community service hours or has any perk programs for
community service.
